Africa
Contact with refugees from Sudan and families from Zimbabwe introduced us to the cultures of Africa, and allowed us to become involved in some aspects of their community life. Over time we learned a little of life in their home countries.
In the early months of 2009 we were privileged to spend some time as volunters and visitors in Tanzania and Zambia. There we learned more of the daily challenges faced by the patient and courageous peoples of Africa. Secondary education fees for a child can cost three months basic wages, and tertiary education fees will be at least ten months pay or more.
With high unemployment rates and many orphans there are many bright young Africans who will be confined to subsistence living – unless they receive help. This website is about giving help, and generating hope.
